MaKayla and her friends dressed up, MaKayla a Football Player!

Aren't they all so Cute! I just love it!

Izzy was a mouse! She was so exctied to wear this like her daddy did when he was little!!

I didn't get a picture of Emily with my nice camera, so I had this one on my phone! Isn't she the cutest little puppy?

Tonight was the Primary Halloween Party. The Young Men and Women were in charge. They all had a good time!!

"Mummies Night Out"

Tonight was our halloween party for R.S. We had a fun dress up party with our spouses called "Mummies Night Out" We had yummy soup in bread bowls shaped like pumkins, lots of candy and dessert. We played fun games and took pictures. As each couple or group came in we took thier picture. I had them do a serious "pretty" pose and then act out the costume they wore or do something funny. They turned out so cute!! I am not sure if I can put anyone else picture on here so I just put ours. The primary is having their party tomorrow so I left my backdrop there and I am going to go help them take pictures of all the kids in their costumes. It was so fun!
We dressed up as CAVEMAN. Brad's mom has a costume like these and Brad wore it when he was little, I thought it was awesome so with lots of help from his mom and mine I made these!
We are pretty WILD! Brad has been sick for 2 days with the stomach flew and he still got ready and came with me! He is so amazingly awesome!!
MaKayla and some of the other girls from our ward came to help in the nursery and games. They did so awesome!

Clear as Then Moon by CRIS STEWART

Well, I finished the last book in the series! I am so excited to have read it and so sad that it is over! I will not spoil any of the ending because I think that is an amazing part of this series is not knowing what will happen! SO I definately LOVED this book! All of my questions were answered in the end :) I love that although there are terrible things that happen through the series, the author has a way of showing the good in everything that happens. This series has truly impacted my life. I look at life and my surroundings differntly. This are so tough for all of us right now and this series has really made me grateful for what I have, have had, and will not have! It has ade me appreciate what simple convienient things we have and think about what I would do if I didn't have all those convieniences! (spelling?) Anyway, I am so grateful to my sister Suzie for introducing this series to me! It has really changed my life for the better got me thinking about what REALLY matters and what is really IMPORTANT!! For all of you who are or will read ENJOY!!
P.S. Keep tissues close by!

4 New Posts!

Ok, so 4 posts in what 48 hours? What a busy weekend huh?

The Taking by Dean Koontz

This is another book given to me by my brother Jason. I have nevre before read a book by Dean Koontz. This book is about the night of the end of the world. It is heavy into the imagination of alien sci-fi stuff. I actually really liked it. I am not used to reading this kind of book so it was very interresting. I didn't have nightmares every night but there were several! I really did enjoy reading this book and I liked that I didn't know how the story would go or end by the first 20 pages. It instead was a complete surprise page by page until the very end! Thanks Jason for the book!! And I definately will have to try another Dean Koontz!
FYI: The last book in the Great and Terrible Series is out! Guess what I'll be doing today???? And I read not only is it out, it is the FINAL Book in the series??!! I am so excited!! I hope to not be dissapointed!

Angel's Landing

Sunday we took MaKayla and Justin to hike Angels Landing in Zion. It was very difficult hike and I thought I was going to die on the way up!! But, we all made it and it was well worth it! 12 miles in 2 days for me and Brad, and I am telling you I feel it today!!

Narrows

Saturday, me and Brad went hiking the Narrows with his parents and brother-inlaw Justin. We hiked in just about 3.5 miles and then back down. It was absolutely beautiful. We rented these awesome socks that kept our feet warm. Anyone who knows me knows that I am always cold and these socks made me warm. I didn't think they would work, but they did. It made it so you didn't get that cold sensation at all, it was the same temp as you were very wierd!! It was definately worth the $5 rental fee and I will NEVER go up there without them. They also have dry pants and shoes you can rent for the colder weather. Only $29 for the pants, shoes, socks and walking stick. Not a bad deal if you don't want to be cold. It was a beutiful hike and we had a blast!! Thanks to MaKayla and my mom for babysitting so we could go!!! Here are a couple of videos we took. The first is of Brad going into a cool cave Dad found in the Narrows and the other is when we were getting ready to turn around in the Narrows. (there is sound, if you want to hear it I would suggest scrolling to the bottom of our blog and pausing the music first)

5 Sisters

I am so lucky to have sisters!! This last weekend my sisters Diane and Lori came down and visited. It is a rare moment that ALL 5 of us get together! Usually we get 3 or 4 but 5 is very RARE!! SO, as you can imagine I was extremely excited. We took this photo at my sister Julie's work. In order: Top Steph, Lori Bottom-Diane, Suzie, and Julie. There is a 20 year gap between the oldest (Julie) and me the youngest, but we have so much fun together! Brad and everyone knows that when we get together that nothing else matters to us. I am so blessed to have my sisters!

Day at the Park

See the turtle in the middle of all the fish? Poor Little fishy stuck in the bowl :(
Checking out the fish!
Ali and Izzy going the wrong way on the slide!

Izzy, Ali, and Payton Ali on the Monkey Bars!
Ducks and Fish enyoing some fresh bread!
Everyone looking at the pond

Today I brought Ali over to play with Izzy. We decided to go to McDonalds and the Park with my sister Susie and her grandkids Payton and Brekon. They had so much fun playing together. We walked around the Nature Center by the park and there is a cool natural pond there. My nepehw about 4 years ago went on a date and decided to put 100 gold fish in the pond. Now there are several thousand gold fish swimming in the pond. We also saw 4 turtles and several ducks. At one point there was a plastic bowl in the pond and some fish got stuck in it, it is hard to tell in the picture, but it was sad to watch.

Emily Stands Up!!

I cannot believe it! She is standing on her own now!! She is starting to let go of things when standing, here is a video of her standing up all by herself!! She is growing too fast!!

BOWS BOWS BOWS!

Ok, I admit it I am a Bow Aholic!!! My addictive personality has gotten the best of me again! But, I love it! I am having so much fun and today MaKayla joined in and we tried these new ones called the Cork Screw Bow. Anyway, we're having a great time. It is so fun making pretty things, I never thought I would be into stuff like this. Above are the ones we made today. These are the ones I made yesterday before church:

Grandma Boberg

Yesterday for dinner we went to Brad's parents house. Grandma Boberg was there so we took some pics. We all love spending time with her, and I am so glad my children have the chance to get to know her. It is hard not knowing how many more holidays and things she will be around for, so it is nice to have days like yesterday!

Craft Day

Today after soccer: me and my sister, step-mom, and nieces got together and did crafts. Our plans for hiking got canceled due to weather! :( We took the whole day to make these but they turned out pretty cute! We could have done them a lot faster but we kept having to go to the store and we all had our babies there! They are only 4 blocks and one side says Fall and the other Snow. We are going to do them for Relief Society next month so I am glad I practiced!!

Cheerleading

Izzy got to go to cheer camp all week at Desert Hills High School. MaKayla was supposed to also, but changed her mind. Izzy practiced all week long and performed last night. She did an awesome job. My great niece Payton went with her and after much anticipation actually went out on the field (lots of sucker bribery). My niece Kaity is a Cheerleader for DHH also. Izzy did Awesome!! After the cheer, she did a great cartwheel- something she has been practicing a lot in gymnastics. It took a long time for my camera to go to video mode so I only caught the end of the routine, but I did get the cartwheel!! You can check out more pictures at my Niece blog the Reads...

Bows!!

Ok, tonight Izzy is performing at the Desert Hills High School game. So, I wanted her to have a matching bow. They are too expensive to buy in stores (my opinion) so, I decided to make one myself. I made 4 bows today. One for MaKayla, one for Payton, and 2 for Izzy because her hair will be in pig tails. Anyway, I found a website with instructions and this is my first attempt, I think they turned out pretty good!

Little Women & Obsession

So I have finished two more books while waiting for the next Great and Terrible to come out. (OCT. 14!). I read one of my cousins blogs who had a list of the top 100 books of all time, you are supposed to copy it then hilight the ones you have read, well I had read NONE OF THEM!! Oh boy!! So, I decided to expand my reading and so I picked up Little Women. I thought I would see what all the fuss is about.

LITTLE WOMEN by Louisa May Alcott :

I found out!! It is so amazing! It has so many life lessons in it without any preaching! In case any of you haven't read it: It is about A mother with 4 daughters and a husband who is in the war. They are very poor and have to work very hard just to survive. They all go through many challenges and triumphs. They have to work together to acomplish little things. I absolutely loved this book!! I learned so much about myself, and how to be a mother. Also I loved how the sisters got along and were there for each other. Anyone who knows me knows that I adore my sisters and don't know how I would survive without them!!

OBSESSION by Jonathan Kellerman:
This one was recommended by my brother Jason. It is about a 19 year old girl who as OCD and was raised by her aunt with OCD. Her aunt gives a death bed confession of a murder. The story s about the Psychologyst and Detective who are trying to find out if there was in fact a murder, did the unt do it, who was murdered, how and why.
I thought it was pretty good. Different from what I have been reading, so a good change. I would recommend reading it if you like the murder mysteries!!

BTW: for those of you who maybe want to read The Great and Terrible Series, I forgot to mention that the first book I think moves kindof slow, until about half way through, also you have to read the first TWO books to understand what all the fuss is about. Brad has read the first 2 as of Monday and is HOOKED!! About half way through the second he wanted to make sure we had the third!!

Hiking in Zion

This past weekend we went to Zion and stayed with Brad's parents in their 5th wheel. We were supposed to hike the Narrows, but there was a flash flood warning and we didn't want to chance it. We took Emily with us and still went hiking. We got a cool new backpack to put her in and it was awesome, she was so happy and smiling the whole time. Everyone who passed Brad smiled and said nice things. Brad said "I didn't know people were so nice!"

It rained and rained all day Saturday but we still put in about 4 miles of hiking. We stayed over Sat night and played games. Got up early and came home Sun. We hope to get back in a couple of weeks and really hike the Narrows and Angels Landing. It was so fun!
