Twilight-- My Own Opinion

Ok, so Sat. I took MaKayla to see Twilight along with my sister and my friend and family. I wanted to take some time to really decide how I felt about the movie, plus I havent' had time to think about it. SO here it is:
I actually thought it was really good. I would not pay the $7 ticket price again to see it but would like to buy the DVD. I know it wasn't as good as the book. How could it be? In my mind I had specific people I veiwed playing the characters, and everything in my mind was a certain way. How they talked, looked everything. So, when I saw the movie it took a while for me to accept the fact that it was different than what I wanted. Without having as much money as the new James Bond movie for the film, I definately did not expect it to be perfect. It did have the low budget feel to it, but i actually liked it. This was her first novel and her first movie. It is also made for teens (the book) so they had to change some of it to apeal to an older audience (I think) There are a lot of VERy Cheesy lines in the book and I liked the changes. Also, I liked the way Bella did not seem so winey in the movie. when I read the series over, I thought she seemed very whiney the whole time. The only really bad part is that when Dr. Cullen walked in his first scene the makeup was terrible. But, what do you expect? I think it was a great movie overall and would definately recommend seeing it. If you have not read the book it will be great, if you have, go in with low expectations and be happy it got made. I can't wait for New Moon to be done, I think with more money and this learning experience, it will be awesome!!

He Did It!!

I am so exctied to anounce that on Saturday Brad passed his Commercial Pilot's Test!!! Way to Go!! He is now qualified to work as a pilot and get paid! He is not done with school yet: He needs 27 more hours of flight time, and take his test to be a Certified Flight Instructor and another to be a Certified Flight Instrument Instructor. This will take him aprox. 10 more weeks to finish! That is the end of Jan!! Holy Cow! I am so excited for him and VERY PROUD!! He is so determined and smart no one doubted he wouldn't pass, but getting the news was so Exciting! He is getting his Resume ready to turn into the Flight School here, of course it is his first choice to work there. The school is awesome and he loves the way they run it. It is very specific on rules and he loves that. I hope we can stay here close to all our family and friends!! Anyway I am so proud of Brad Yippee!!

Emily's Milestones!

Ok, so I have been so busy with Relief Society, MaKayla's fund raisers, and Izzy that I haven't had a chance to post about Emily. I actually had 1 hour alone with her today, and she was AWAKE! I tried 5 times to get a picture of her teeth, but didn't pan out, but I got these cute videos of her.
She is now 9 months old and I dont' know how tall she is or how much she weighs, I haven't had time to check but here are some milestones:
She can wave bye bye and hi! At church our teacher uses his hands a lot and she thinks he is waving, so she starts waving back it is SO CUTE! She still only has the 2 teeth on bottom. She can play Pat-a-Cake, and that is how I keep her distracted to change her diaper. She still hates baby food, but loves to try to eat anything we are! She knows how to say milk in sign language (sometimes I can get her to do it) if I do it, she gets so excited! She took 2 steps Two nights ago and is amazing with her little walkin toy (shown in video). Izzy even got her to run today with it, (Izzy was pushing). She stood up from a crouch position the other day, but hasn't done it again that I have noticed? Her hair is starting to grow a little, i got 2 teeny tiny pony tails in today! She can climb stairs very quickly, at her grandma Hawkers house she spends her whole time trying to get up them before she gets caught.

She is so cute, she loves her sisters so much, she follows them around all day long, and loves it when they play with her! I am so proud to be her mom!

Izzy and MaKayla's Week

This week both girls had a lot of fun, MaKayla played on the Middle School Powder Puff Team. her 8th grade class beat the 9th graders!! Yeah Here are some Pics and video:
Izzy had a invite a friend to gymnastics day, so she brought her cousin Mandi. they got to do the tramp, floor, and beam, I missed getting pictures during class, so I took some after:

Tag: We all have "Quirks"

I am supposed to tell 6 quirky things about myself and tag 4 other people (and leave a note that you tagged them on their blog), so here it goes:

1. I get addicted to everything! It can be a book series, the way I talk, laugh, colors I wear, what I want to eat, what I do, what I watch, what I listen to, how I do my makeup, my hair, blogging, it can be anything! I have learned that if it is something bad, I can switch it for something good: I smoked for 13 years and quit by changing to reading the Book of Mormon! (that wasn't as easy as it sounds) Stopped drinking alcohol for Diet Coke! (had to because I couldn't drink and not smoke) The next thing I need to do is exercise, but I know I can't start until I am ready to do it completely because I can't do something a little, it has to be 100%.
2. I hate shoes and socks! I think whoever invented them should be shot! They make me feel claustrophobic (spelling ?) I only wear them when I am too cold or they are required! I can't stand quitters (the socks that the tops are worn out so they quit holding up and slide down your leg) socks must be tight and secure. Also, it makes me gag when I see socks on other people and they are all twisted around their foot YUCK! My nephew Tyler is the worst he lets them hang off his feet, it makes me sick just thinking about it.
3. I love to cook for people. I worked at a kitchen as a cook for 3 years and had to cook for 125 people each meal. I fell in love with it. I love to cook and enjoy doing it for big groups. The only problem is that I can't cook in a dirty kitchen, so if there is a mess I have a total mental block about it and can't do it. But I really love cooking for groups!
4. My favorite day of the year is the day after Thanksgiving! I don't know why but the rush of people and standing in line at 3am is so fun to me. We have a tradition that me and my sister go do the Black Friday shopping every year, and this year should be no exception. Most people hate the crowds but I find it exhilarating!
5. I am a big scaredy cat! I am really afraid of talking to new people, I think people I know won't recognize me so I don't say anything, I am scared of talking in front of people, I am worried people don't or won't like me. My mom says I am fearless, but the truth is I am terrified, but don't want people to know so I hide it.
6. I am efficient. I like to make things faster but just as good, for some reason it drives me nuts to take a long time to do things, every job or anything I do I try to find a faster way to do it. No matter what it is. I can't stand watching people do things when I can see a faster way to do it and not tell them. I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut. Sometimes that is a problem!
I tag: Cynthia H., Luann H., Darian K., and Jessica H.

Emily's First Step

I can't believe it, she did it! Today she officially took her first step! Not holding onto anything and actually using her foot like she knew what she was doing, of course she was walking towards her dad! Lately she is a huge daddy fan. When he is home all she wants is her dad. She cries when he puts her down and won't even let me take her from him. On the video it is not too great, we tried to catch her stepping, but she didn't do it very good again.

BTW: Big news She got her first tooth on Oct. 20th I have waited to post it because she won't let me take a picture yet, and then the 2nd tooth came in on the 29th. I think there are some comming in on top, will update when I get a photo!

Brad's Instrument Rating and Halloween

Brad flew down to CA this week to take his Instrument Rating Test. Although he was very nervouse HE PASSED!! YEAH!!! This means he can fly in no visablity and know what to do and it takes him one step closer to finishing school! He has allready sceduled his next test for his Commercial License (that means he can get paid to fly)! He goes down again on Nov. 22 We are all so proud of him!!
Brad was gone and it was such a busy week we didn't have time to carve our pumpkins so this year we Painted them! It still turned out fun and I didn't have the nasty mess!!

MaKayla went with the cool Splatter effect! It looks awesome!
