Long Beach Vacation!

Brad had to go to Long Beach for a Robinson Helicopter training, so we decided to take the girls on a vacation. Brad will be working a lot of crazy hours and won't have his usual time off in the summer to go places, so we took advantage of the time we could spend together! We left Sunday and came home Friday. We had such an awesome time, the last night Emily was really sick and cried through the night (poor neighbors) and then continued to cry almost the whole way home. So by the time we got home we were very glad!!

Day 1:
Traveling/Joe's Crab Shack
We left Sunday morning after dropping off all the animals and headed to our family fun week! It was so nice to not be in a hurry and take our time. The girls have never been to Joe's Crab Shack so we took them there to celebrate Brad's new job! And it is very loud so the kids blend it n :)
On the way they were all very busy, Izzy watching movie after movie (thanks to Dramamine!) Emily playing with her foot and MaKayla doing her puzzle book!
My favorite car in the world is a Rolls Royce. I remember the first time I ever saw one! Brad knows my love for them, so we stalked this rare Rolls Limo to get some pictures!

Really, isn't it beautiful!

At Joe's, everyone tired from the long day!

Day 2
Hollywood/ Chucky Cheese's
We decided to be girls and head off to Hollywood for the day. Brad was in school :( We were planning on going to the Wax museum and Believe it Or Not Musuem, but this guy said Hanna Montana's home and the girls changed their mind. I decided, hey why not, beats driving and trying to keep them quiet all day!
For family night we took the kids to Chucky Cheese's they had never been there, and Izzy was about jumping out of her pants she was so excited to go! And it turned out to be a great deal only .25 for every game and ride! After that day anytime I asked where they wanted to eat Izzy would say "Chucky Cheese?"

Mak and Izzy with their balloons a mime made them at the wax Museum

Sweet souvenirs MaKayla got a cool hat, Izzy a headm=band and emily sunglasses for her daddy!

On our tour we stopped to get a picture in front of the Hollywood sign We were such tourists!

The girls each picked out "thier star" for the future when they are famous

She looks ready don't you think?

Oh no, he's got Izzy!

This was where the scene from Pretty Woman was filmed where he comes in the limo and climbs the fire escape

Our crazy tour bus driver, notice the signs? He kept calling MaKayla Britney Spears sister, he even stopped in front of a bunch of construction workers and yelled "hey, I got Britney Spears Sister in here!" It was so funny!
Chucky Cheese's Izzy was deciding if he was real or not she decided he wasn't!

See them in front of the blue screen and on the screen?

Rides fun!

Games fun!

Skeet ball FUN!

Little baby car fun!

TICKETS FUN FUN FUN!!
Day 3
Acquarium of the Pacific/ Light House
Brad's awesome aunt Beth got us tickets to the Aquarium. It is a huge place and totally worth going, if you are ever int he area, I highly recomend it! After we were done there, we walked around the pier and up to the light house to look at the Queen Mary where Aunt Beth works and we were going the next day.

At the Aquarium huge fish tanks!

Huge Bass Fish as big as Izzy

Huge lobster as big as Emily, I said they looked Yummy and all the other people glared at me, how rude!
They had all kinds of different Jelly fish, for some reason I just think they are romantic

The sea Lions were fighting or playing, whatever it was it was very entertaining!

We got to pet all kinds of sea stuff.

These were some cool Spider Crabs. Yummy!

A whole bunch of Nemo's
My favorite was the Leafy Sea Dragon. They are so cool, you can hardly tell they are there.
Huge Sting Rays, and the girls got to touch them. They were about 3 feet wide!
Aren't they all stunning? This is the Long Beach Light house.

Izzy spent some time running and scaring all the pigeons, it was so funny!

The view from the Light house of the Queen Mary Ship!

Day 4
Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier
Brad got out of school early, so after me and the girls did some great bargain shopping in town, we went to Venice Beach and walked down the crazy beach street. MaKayla got a sweet Henna Tattoo and Izzy got some new shades! Then we went to the Santa Monica pier to ride the Ferris Wheel, Izzy has always wanted to go on one, and this time was brave enough to get on....Some of the others were not so excited!
Brad checking to make sure the swings were ok!

How cool is that right on the beach!

Playing on the swings for the first time!
Emily has no idea how high up we were!

The view is worth the ride!
MaKayla scared! The brave ones, we weren't afraid!

Emily enjoying the beautiful view

The Sunset at the Santa Monica Pier

Day 5
Queen Mary/Russian Submarine
We went to the Queen Mary and a Russian Scorpion real Submarine. We got to take a tour inside the sub and touch all kinds of buttons!
On the Queen Mary we got a behind the scenes tour, and Haunted Ship tour! Thanks to aunt Beth who hooked us up!! She is awesome. I didn't post any of the pictures from the tours. But the rooms are awesome, if you are ever staying in Long Beach, I would highly recomend staying on the Queen Mary. It is remodled with keeping all the antique stuff! Beautiful and something out of the ordinary!
MaK and Izzy with the Scary guy! If there was a problem in the sub, this is the suit they would have to put on. It is huge and very heavy!

Walking across the submarine to the entrance.
Going down, down, down, into the Sub!
Izzy at the sub dinner table.
Emily was in charge of all the valves. this is about 50 of 2000 on ship

We had to climb through the tiny holes!
MaK taking a peak at the light house we saw the day before

Can you imagine 6ft tall men sleeping on these?
The outside of the sub
Of course we had to try out the torpedo!
On the Queen Mary enjoying a yummy snack!

The view from the Queen Mary at night, I am still trying to figure out my camera.

A veiw from the front of the Queen Mary at night after the Ghost Tour!

Brad at the front with a big gun from when the Queen Mary was the "Gray Ghost" during its use in WWII

We had such a fun time, I am so thankful we had the chance to go on this trip! Thank you to Mom Hawker for watching Holly and the frog, and my dad for watching the Hampster!! And to Aunt Beth for all the great tickets!

  1. I didn't know you did all thatBeach is a neat place to visit. I agree with MaKayla about the Ferris Wheel, though. I wouldn't have gone on it. She is braver than me. Mom H.
